How much is a bore hole worth as a tenants fixture? I'm sure that's like asking how long is a piece of string, but just trying to get a ball park figure

Get an up-to-date quote to drill it now with a break-down for the cost of the equipment (pump, pressure vessels etc).
Then discount the value of the equipment by its age.

When I said this a few years back to agents as we were doing outgoing vacation was told water cause can alter tomorrow, rendering it useless (iv actually had it happen since) they just gave an industry figure. Just had a new whole for £4k drilled here

But don't they normally drill into aquifers? There are maps of the underground rock layers and aquifers etc so I can't see how they can move?!
Sounds like an agent doing their job by spouting bullsh*t.

Paid £9k for hole and pump 15 years ago. Got £8k back 18 months later. Landlord piped it over a mile to the big house, gardens and cafe.
Big house was too close to river to get good water.
Saved them thousands a year.

Hmm... may be a good idea to have it confirmed as such - not wanting to be a pedant, but a lot of people are ignorant of the difference. And, of course, there is often a significant cost difference...

£5k per day for a bore hole. Thats drilling, pump, liner etc. Had a price a few weeks ago.
