Is your expat life really this sad ?
I struggle to take our French correspondent seriously sometimes. He has a 100% anti UK government and leave voter stance. I’m all for reasonable debate and I voted remain but we are supposedly a democracy. Brexit was always going to be a break from the Brussels machine so to rattle on about industries moaning about new paperwork isn’t helping anyone or anything. Got to say the shear amount of paperwork is frankly another way of saying “we don’t want your goods so let’s make it as difficult as possible” The European mission is flawed - I say that as a “European” but the loss of decision making is one I struggle to embrace. Oh and before you ask LBP, no I haven’t read the agreement this weekend, busy with other stuff.

He takes it to extremes and probably most of us struggle to take him seriously. Less is more sometimes, if I was giving friendly advice as a mate I would say leave all this alone for a week or two, for our sake and for yours then come back a bit more chilled for your own benefit, it comes over a bit like a spurned lover who still loves her but pretends not to. No offence LBP although you may well take it that way, we are all happier debating than point scoring.

She walked before being pushed; "TalkTalk boss Dido Harding's utter ignorance is a lesson to us all" Marketing Magazine strapline . She has certainly kept up with that headline. :ROFLMAO:
As it was 16 months from the data breach to her resignation it was a very very slow walk.

As to her appointment as head of track and trace, what was the govt to do ? take 6 months to follow all the usual civil service appointment procedures in the middle of a pandemic or appoint someone with high level management experience in both the private and public sector and in telecoms and health which was even more important who they trusted and was available immediately ?

But you don't want to . You just want to cheerlead that UK = all good and the EU= all bad.
It's never black and white, it's usually varying shades of grey.
Take a lot more than than some bloke on a forum that I don't know and don't care about to offend me. Its just childish that some have to resort to calling people names because they don't like their point of view.
As my kids get told " if you don't like it, don't look at it"👍

I don't think you'll find much from me about UK good EU bad, I try to limit myself to reasoned debate although I sometimes get drawn in by some of the stuff that gets posted. I am UK FIRST but I don't think I'm EU bad at all, I've said regularly that we should all stop the stupid point scoring both ways as it's just negativity for negativity's sake, and that's doing nobody any good. Life's too short for that.

It is a shame that some on here cannot recognise that their are huge questions over some appointments.
Kate Bingham was obviously an inspired choice, but Dido Harding, what has she ever achieved ? Probably only ever got a job because she is of the fair sex and friends with the right people and married to the right man.
some on here should grow up. Some would not criticise Boris if he rogered them personally :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

I can't understand how so many acquiesce and let the present government change and ride rough shod over the law. No dissent allowed! Its like a movie except its done over a length of time. Frog and hot water spring to mind.
