I know some people get exasperated with @Bossfarmer posts and his attitude is a bit marmite but let's face it, the threads he's started haven't half created some debate.

To be honest I haven't worked our whether they are for his benefit or ours

Remove Batters. 41 pages
Turkeys voting for Christmas 23 pages
Cereal farmers. 19 pages
Thrown under the bus. 24 pages
Trade deals. 17 pages

And more I'm sure, got to give him some credit for getting us all talking and learning from each other eh?

Bossfarmer is bringing up a sensitive subject. It certainly stimulated debate!

I think it's good to think and talk about the reforms of agriculture's support systems after the expiry of our EU membership 2 years after Article 50 has been served. Whatever we have afterwards, it will certainly be different & consensus is that it will be less.

Entrenched positions do make these threads repetitive but there have been some great discussions IMHO.

The debates are fair enough but the OP does tend to get his knickers in a twist if anyone (especially Pasty) dares to differ. I do wonder if Bossfarmer is perhaps the unacknowledged love child of Walterp and Lucrezia Borgia, OK I do accept that unless Walterp has a time machine............

If one post in one thread makes one of us make one decision that saves one pound(hopefully a bit more than that) come the dreadful day of judgement(Brexit) than it has all been worthwhile:)

I must admit though, I'm tending to 'glaze over' in some of these threads now.

Still, "It's good to talk":D

if people don't like my threads don't read them or comment I am merely standing up for the UK farmers, many people are against farmers on these forums

Please don't take this as criticism, but most of the posters who disagree with you and engage with you about it ARE farmers. I've been a TFF member since it first started - after a while and a few posts you get a feel for or pick up direct references as to what they do as a day job.

The vast majority are not anti-farming, they just diagree with some of the things you post and have a different vision of the future than you do. Mostly I enjoy reading what you post - the discussion it starts is enlightening and thought provoking. I get annoyed when the debate stalls and the personal insults start.

Please continue to post here (y)(y)(y)

They mainly fill up with ill informed opinion being spouted as fact, which is then repeated ad nauseum.
People bring an entrenched opinion to these "debates" and will swear black is white before they admit that the opposite view has some valid.
As debate they are entirely pointless.
