Bourdon Cable Spool / Valve Fault

Renault Temis has two double acting spool valves operated by levers and Bourdon cables. Lever will operate in one direction, pulling on cable, but won’t push the cable in the other direction. So I can operate a ram to retract but can’t extend. Lever seems to be a dead stop when you try to extend.
Took end cover off spool valve and cleaned up and oiled detent springs and balls. You can pull that end of the spool valve to the extend position and it pulls the lever in the cab to the extend position but fit the end cover and spring back on the spool valve and try to push the cable and valve with the lever and it just won’t move.
I suspect something wrong in the bourdon cable making it act like a ratchet pawl when trying to “push” it but just wondered if I’m missing something obvious. Bizarre how the lever is completely locked from moving moving from neutral to ram extend. Happened suddenly.

Has anything fell in the levers in the cab stopping it from going back? Probably not but last weekend dad claimed my tractor had gone wrong and couldn't feed out as one spool wouldn't work one way, when I got on it the next day I found a chunk of glass (straw blower related incident two weeks previous) sitting in the top of the lever slot which was stopping it going all the way back

We did have an incident with the plough and the back window so maybe. Couldn’t see anything at first glance but might have a glass crystal in it somewhere. Looks like a cable out and thorough examination job.
Weird how the lever will not budge at all from neutral “pushing” the cable, but you can pull it in from the other end of the spool valve. Can’t see any locks round the lever mechanism.

That is odd, good luck solving it

For the record, what appears to have happened is the cup that retains the spring on the end of the spool valve (under the end cover) has jumped off past the circlip on the end of the spool valve and come off the end of the spool valve. The end of the spool valve is now stopped from moving because it is butting on the end of the cup which is against the cover. Hadn't realised this when I took it apart for cleaning. Thought that spring cup was supposed to go against the end cover, but no, its supposed to be retained on the end of the spool. Circlip/ring clip thing has corroded a bit and let the cup come off the end, so cup and spring gone against end cover.
