It would be interesting to see how the RPA perform this year given the flooding and crop losses people have experienced. I'm sure we all hope that they take the best advantage to get businesses paid early in the payment window.

I'd have thought that by the 26th November everyone with an unchanged application from 2018 should at least be at "final checks" (i.e. bank details) ?‍♂️

We haven’t changed since bps started and have never been paid in Dec so I appreciate your enthusiasm but it never seems to work that way

Why did or do Scotland get paid earlier in the year?

Scotland operate a 'loan scheme' whereby you can apply for a loan set against your due payment. This has to be applied for in September (in effect you sign the 'letter of offer' and send it back) and they make the loan in October (I think, as I was too distracted by harvest to return the letter, Doh!). When the Dec 1st date arrives the loan is 'paid off' with zero interest charged to the recipient. It is one of the few good things to come out of Scotgov, and it conveniently covers up all the IT issues they used to have with delayed payments! Everyones a winner.

yes i think so, some fields have been down 5 ora bit longer, should be changed to pp theoretically i suppose.and its such a small acreage of corn .
yes, the temporary grass is classed as arable it seems thats whats caught me out i think, i dont knowwhat they mean about the hedges either, theres plenty off them, but were not on els any longer so im not sure what thats all about,
the claim details seems to say things arent complied with mores a pity
wont know for sure whats what till next week though i guess
On the subject of hedges for EFA: we used hedges for the first time in 2017. For 2018 these were measured by satellite and were hugely inaccurate. I recall many people sent in RLE1 forms to have that information changed. We had enough hedges (both internal, where you have control over both sides & adjacent, only one side) not to bother with changing anything. The land parcel in the image attached has 3 full hedges in it, but because one hedge is very thick and has hedgerow trees it is not treated as hedgerow, so we lost 250 metres we could claim for. Ironically, we had an RPA inspection in 2017 where it took an officer a whole week to measure hedges; but they didn't bother using any of that information in 2018 when they measured everyone by satellite!

Maybe certain schemes have certain requirements like hedges trees, walls traditional barns reinstate etc etc???

is that something i shouldve done ?:scratchhead: i dont know whats changed tbh, all the hedges are the same as ever.and no grass extra put into arable.
im not on any schemes , just a modest simple straight forward bps claim. on mostly temporary grass farm.small amount of arable.
i dont know whats changed.phoned them back along he tried to helpful but no sense really came from it.
If you're able to look at each parcel of land through the Rural Payments website, you're able to see how much hedgerow has been mapped by the RLR that you can use as EFA for your claim. If you don't have enough recognised hedgerow for the farm's Ecological Focus Area then areas would have to be left fallow or you'd have to establish some margins around fields or alongside water courses.

There's some helpful links below. Although it might lead to a penalty you'll need to discuss resubmitting your application with updated EFA information. However the penalty should be less than submitting an application without EFA.

When you generate & download your application, there should be a page informing you of whether your application meets the EFA rules. If it hasn't you need to go and populate the Greening: ecological focus area data sheets for 5% of the area of your holding (or jut slightly more) with options.

Ours just says " Created " o_O. Maybe " Created " should be added to the poll options ?

With no Submit Date....even though I can view what I sent so they do have it and gave it an application number :cautious:

Hmmmm, I wonder what that means 'coz the submission dates and times show for the previous 4 years.
