to stick at it negotiate a reduction in rent
if that does not happen walk taking the payment
after 2014 the payment for 2025 and 2026 will be based on a reference year ( the detail still to be decided)although it will be reduced new farmers will get nothing
land lords who do not agree rent reduction are likely to end up worse off
imho landlords agent are more worried than farm tennents
Problem is there is no detail on the retirement scheme until probably after 11th October, by which time 12 months notice would need to be given to exit in 2022. I am sure landlords are concerned about tenants exiting and the reduction in payments, but demand for land is still very strong, and reductions in rent on FBTs is going to be slow and hard work on three year review cycles.

It’s not good I agree.

I think it will gradually erode away on the continent over the next decade. There’s a massive covid bill to pay. I may well be wrong. So you have no idea in Scotland at all? Is this because Nicola plans to take you back in?!
cant see it, 80 acre farms in france arent going to compete on world markets against the likes of russia and ukraine with no support, its kept the same until 2023 then noone knows

Dont get me started on the retirement scheme, its not what it really is and its a PR disaster in the making. What it is is a BPS entitlements surrender scheme. All talk of it being a retirement scheme should be dropped, it should simply be open to any farm business to surrender their remaining BPS entitlements for a lump sum once their remaining entitlement fall below £50k.

Billions of people living in city's around the world and if other country's start messing around with food production nevermyned our political morons they the pollitical lot will soon get the boot .Ag does not produce exesive green house gasses compared with other things. Food to eat is the first thing every other thing follows on improvements will happen as with every thing. I don't think russian or china will medel with ag like this lot. Is it that the UK politeral lot are hoping land prices will drop so there cronies con buy big chunks of land and try to be the landed gentry . There are changes in the earth's magnetic feild all sorts going on the earth has in the past had for ever more co2 compared with now and the temperatures did not cause a problem .
