Question for those constantly checking and worrying about when the sfp is going in your bank, how the hell are you going to manage when its phased out? You probably havent spent it wisely if after all these years of sub you are still desperate for its arrival. Frightening.
Probably have to downsize the private jet and cut out one of the skiing holidays, ho well 🙄😂

its about three except on a wednesday as they are shut !!but just as importantly gets me off the place chance to talk to pals /acquaintances go to the shop or whatever
If it took 'the arrival and need to bank ' a cheque to have a reason to get off farm I would probably get off farm and talk to pals / aquaintances once a month if I'm lucky .
For a change why not try jumping in the pickup and popping down the local pub to have a social life ....they would be glad of your support perhaps 😊😊

Cheques are a thing of the past in my world . Thankfully we get very few now and when we do it can be weeks before they get banked .

Insurance requirements these days 🙄 ….large volumes of cash must be accompanied at all times.

It’s surprising how long a cheque takes to clear these days too…
Surprisingly since COVID cheques seem to clear much quicker. Any I cash are cleared funds in 48 hours with HSBC. Auctions have encouraged everyone to go BACS but most don’t give you it for 7-10 days. I’ve farmed without any sub for 6 years now so I know these things 😉

BACS in 7 to 10 days is still better than a cheque in my view . Cheques are just hassle . I've noticed though that cheques banked by 4 pm in Santander clear overnight .

They are now they’ve shut all the branches. Northallerton is the County town, HSBC have closed, the main post office has closed, just two counters at the back of WH Smith now, and that was closed for most of the last fortnight due to staffing issues. And they wonder why the high Street is dying

I was trying to justify @Phil P spending two weeks away on business with his private jet for "financial duties". ;)

Exactly this! H&H at Carlisle used to pay on the day.You could get your cheque, walk across the road and put in the bank straightaway.Cleared in 3 days. Its all BACS at minimum 7 days now...........................and the bank closed last Friday.

Paid some cheques in yesterday to NatWest got some as cleared funds today. Funny thing is the difference between cleared funds and account balance is just less than than the value of one of the cheques, can you get a part cleared cheques. They were from HSBC Barclays and Yorkshire accounts
