To me this looks like a pretty clear acknowledgement that Basic Payment Scheme is far from being decoupled from production.

This is the thing about our government. They do lots of things to make them "look" generous which makes for good headlines......but in actual fact they aren't really doing anything but shuffling the same cards.

I'm grateful for it, but I don't think this will be enough for most farmers.

It will count as them paying a certain % in a certain time to conform with their own guidelines.
If they pay it out earlier they can take it back in tax earlier.

I received the ‘Spring Update’ from WAG a couple of days ago, saying we would get an October advance, as we did last year.
