got a few bits of sporadic patches of bracken in one of the upper fields, not worth a boom spray, what and when is the best time to eradicate it? just raising its head this week! which spray? as asulox is only available in July in large quantities,

Possibly, I've used a variety of stuff in grass over the years, but it's only the things with 2-4d in where i can see where I've switched the sprayer on and off in corners and around electric poles.
Still get the odd bit of bracken growing but it gets a good 95% of it.

This stuff doesn’t wanna die without a real fight! Have not be able to track down asulox, plus don’t need the quantity of how you can get it, used round up in the knapsack as to little area for full boom plus loose a lot of grass, some patches I’ve done 3 times now, must be small fonds underneath they move on up, just been with another back pack this morning, let’s see how they do next spring, Hard work bringing neglected land back up to scratch, drains, brambles, rushes have not been so bad, but the bracken has tested things, 70 mules will give it a go at the end of the month!!!

A bit of an aside for a moment.....

While doing a search during the week I found (and since misplaced) a conversation here mentioning the company that is composting bracken. It was said in that conversation that the company are often looking for new bracken ground due to frequently cutting the bracken ground they have now.

If someone in the know sees this, could you tell me, does the frequent cutting kill the bracken to the point where it dies out - say a cut 3-4 times a year.

OR

Is it that the cutting just reduces the crop size of the bracken so makes that area of bracken questionable in terms of yield?

Thinking of going organic, hence the question.
