Brand new old liners

I recently ordered 20 sets of liners.when the box arrived I immediately was drawn to how yellow the stickers were on the box. Turned out they were 8 years old manufactured in 2012. I reordered a new set of liners from an online company in ireland.brand new manufactured in 2020. I subsequently phoned the local supplier to tell him there was a problem with liners and he could pick them up when he comes for a parlour service. He got humped that I didn't give him a chance to exchange liners. I gave him a chance. He sent a very outdated set that could of done untold damage to my cows with no recompense. Hes now a bit backward about doing the parlour service. Would anyone fit 8 year old liners

You know the usual.......didn't notice it was old stock. I think he chanced them out and is annoyed because he knows what he did but cant fix or resolve the problem

I think he may have a point that you didn’t come back to him before going elsewhere. But who keeps eight-year-old stock???

Maybe he was, maybe he wasn’t, depends where those liners have been sitting for 8 years.
If they have been sitting at the manufacturers or anywhere in between the dealers they could have arrived at the dealers and he’d have no reason to suspect they were old stock and supplied them in good faith.

The strange thing here is that the op didn’t first contact the dealer , it would certainly have been my first reaction.
The fact that the dealer wasn’t the first point of contact when a problem was found along with the fact that the dealer is now reluctant to do other work would suggest a rather poor buisness relationship between the two, I can’t imagine such a situation arising with the dairy engineer I use, he would have been my first point of contact and I’m completely confident he’d have sorted it out swiftly and wiithout any problems about doing other work

depends on how you get on with him, does he do your breakdowns ? if yes, you should have talked to him, at the very least. Breakdowns, are notoriously out of hours.

Speculation partly, my post starts with maybe.
A situation like that wouldn’t have arisen with my dealer he’d have sorted it without me needing to go elsewhere or any awkwardness about doing any other work, fact.

Send them back and get them to put a new label on the box, they'll be fine to use after that
