Branded clothing

I don't see anything wrong with it, can be part of a company's PPE issue and look smart. It's no more expensive than sign writing vehicles and machinery. Also there is the 'team' mindset that comes with it and possibly new or temporary staff will recognise a more professional mindset in their place of work?

Engelbert Strauss do smart work wear and can embroider logos and corporate branding to their stuff which won't look naff and will withstand being washed.

What is this ‘washed’ of which you speak?:scratchhead:

I never have a problem with social distancing when I visit the big town.👍

When my muck spreading contractor comes, everyone in smart hi viz in (usually) fairly clean vehicles it immediately puts you on a positive start, they also do a great job to back up the branding and image. If someone turned up in a coffee stained limp bizkit t shirt they bought at a concert in 1998 it will make me judge them, they may we’ll do just a good job or even better but looking smart gives you confidence.

Maybe that's the difference between the corporate arable South East, and more livestock areas?

I'm quite happy if contractors turn in up without branding, hi-viz or in particularly tidy clothing. I judge them only on how they do the job and how willing they are to put the hours in. Muckspreading was done this year by a local young lad with a couple of spreaders, with his mate from YFC helping him out by driving one of the tractors. Both had (unbranded) overalls on and were wearing wellies. I'm happy to put the business there way if it helps them get a leg up, so long as they do the job well.

I'd suspect I was paying too much if an outfit turned up in shiny new branded kit.

More to do with first impressions

Yes, I understand that. The first impression I want to take is that they are grafters that can do the job, not that they are spending a lot of time & effort to create a first impression. ;) As I said, it's more of a corporate mentality, where the fir coat is more important than the lack of knickers at times.
As I said got to back it up!

I can think of farms/estates where two blokes in miscellaneous tractors and clothing would not be viewed favourably when compared to a team in sign-written machinery, all in good order (turning up in machinery plastered in muck/slurry from previous job is not great) and wearing corporate jackets etc.

Some AD or ancillary type sites hi-vis is near mandatory for anyone from a tanker driver visiting once a day, the office lady watching the weighbridge to the bloke driving the loading shovel. Would you really expect less?

None of this stuff need cost the Earth. It's not like your average spreader driver needs a personalised arctic weather jacket that costs £200.
