Branded clothing

When my muck spreading contractor comes, everyone in smart hi viz in (usually) fairly clean vehicles it immediately puts you on a positive start, they also do a great job to back up the branding and image. If someone turned up in a coffee stained limp bizkit t shirt they bought at a concert in 1998 it will make me judge them, they may we’ll do just a good job or even better but looking smart gives you confidence.
I'd be pretty happy with a limo bizkit t shirt from 1998, probably a good guy 🤘🤘
Got a good deal on a bundle here, bit of advertising for the pedigree Herefords

We have nothing branded for fencing, we wear what we like, I do feel however that I should supply some clothes to the self employed for bad weather, but I’m not so keen on branding, we have enough work on, when people turn up to ask about fencing I try and hide, the last thing they need is my number!

All the boys with my electrical company have polo shirts and hoodies with our name on them. I think it looks more professional on site than them being in various Different t shirts. Twice last week I pulled an apprentice up for not wearing his branded t shirt.
Trades would be better off turning up when they say they will rather than wearing branded clothes!

You have to be careful ---what starts out as a branded work item can soon become a must have fashion accessory

Come on Derrick, don't be shy - in view of your championing the stuff at every available opportunity, why don't you go for extra promotion of the 'black stuff'?............

............:woot::woot::stop::stop:........on second thoughts, sorry, maybe it's not such a great idea after all
Best to just stick to 'Feeds and Seeds'.

Yes, lots of people do that on the showing scene. I think selling your breed/pedigree is a valuable idea, gives confidence in potential buyers you aren't morons who try to cut corners.

That would depend on the type of sale perhaps? If I was buying a crossing ram I would rather buy off a shepherd that looked like a commercial farmer, than one who’s priority appeared to be image branding, which I would automatically associate with a showing mentality.

It is a walking billboard for your product too though.

The people going to shows and showing their stock are surely going with the intention of 'selling' their pedigree and herd/flock at all times, and getting maximum exposure for their brand if you like. Whether they actually sell any stock or not I would think is secondary to that.

I wear branded hoodies and t shirts when doing my digger stuff.i reckon it makes me look more professional.also had some mugs done 20 years ago which I gave out when starting out doing it full time.its easier for people to remember you and people like something for nothing.

Mugs, cups, pens, stationery, desk blotters, notepads, Christmas cards, they all cost pennies really and I think helps with the customer connection bit.
Id agree.was 20 years ago but 118mugs,3x boxes of 36 was in the region of £150.occasionally get asked for another if one has been dropped and broken.cheap advertising in the real scheme of things

Anyone going to own up to giving their tractor driver a hessian sack to put over his head and shoulders, complete with some binder twine to hold it on with? Oh sorry, wrong century.

We were generous and gave them 4 West of England sacks. One for the shoulders and one around the waist. We even let them have a spare pair so one set could be hung up to dry at lunchtime and the second set used in the afternoon.
Mind you we made them patch any holes up with spare sacking stuck on with Copydex ..... those sacks were valuable. 👍

I have to confess that we give our staff (& ourselves) branded clothing - Polo shirts, T Shirts and bodywarmers.

If I am honest, it is because we take pride in what we do and are not afraid to show it.

(No doubt it's one of the 7 deadly sins but I'm in hell anyway from some of my posts elsewhere)

Cheers ...........

How can you expect staff to take pride in what they do if you do not or my opinion. Do the mugs come free with every Hersey purchased?

Agree, the contracting company I was taking about earlier all wear their shirts with pride.
I really need to get some decent hi viz shirts in cotton ordered. Some of the cheaper ones are too sweaty.
We use Blaklåder hi vis. It’s not cheap but it’s comfy and wears well. All our muck gang wears it, and as you say sets off the right impression. Some of the cheaper hi vis seems to attract bugs but the Blaklåder stuff doesn’t seem so bad.
