Breaking the law

Yes, but... you can listen to EU spokesmen and come away thinking they represent a benign bastion of democracy, a complete lack of hypocrisy and good will to all... and you really fell for lovely Leo's spiel. :ROFLMAO:

So you agree with me. Stay with me a little while longer. I have rescued far more lost individuals from eternal oblivion and obscurity. I have every confidence, I can make you see the obvious light.

You misunderstand; but your admission of evangelism is enlightening. :)

I note your latest thread on China! Indeed, a clear and present danger. That said, the usurpation of democracy and legal norms, in your own House of Parliament, should be of much greater concern to you! Rot from within can be such a silent and invidious force of destruction.
Which reminds me, that’s two of the new great free trade partners, much beloved by Brexiteers, which are by the hour becoming shall we say, “less attractive”. One is China and the other one isn’t the EU. I would name them, but I really can’t be arsed with the hassle from the usual mob on here!

Hmm... presumably from being so long without any, you don't understand or have forgotten how sovereignty works, democracy too what with you being a vassal state again.

Sunny, time to turn the grass, but I'll check in later for more laughs.

Seems like British democracy and associated checks and balances works then

For now, but it will not stop Cummings from trying to undermine the democratic process. In this case it looks like it will be passed backwards and forwards between the Commons and the Lords and watered down with lots of amendments. Be interesting to see if any nasty does sneak though if it's passed in the end.

As a last resort of course the electorate has a direct say every five years in who governs us and the policies they wish to persue.

If that were the case they wouldnt need the support of parliament, the Lords and then win in court to get it through.

Given the fact the Conservatives have a majority is would require the Conservatives to be split which could only be accomplished by a lack of faith in Boris's leadership.

The Lords will be TOLD by Parliament what to do as they know well.

The courts cannot overrule Parliament as you should already know. Parliament sets and makes the law .. which is why the SNP broke the legal system and WILL be set straight .. as the Law Lords know as well.

Or in other words. It's game set and match to Parliament as requested by the UK voting public.

Yes Im aware of the above but they dont have the "power" to make the Lords agree with them, they can try and would maybe succeed but dont have the power to tell them what to do, and Id suggest their "faith in Boris's leadership" is starting to test the lords if not plenty in his party. Game set and match (maybe) but at what cost? Mind you I also accept a communist government cares little what other countries think, let alone its own people.
