Breedr Livestock Trading

We're much more than a trading app although we have sold millions of pounds of livestock since we launched 18 months ago! Breedr is a livestock app that allows you to weigh, medicate and move your stock, when you sell your animals you can use the weights/medicines as part of the advert and we have a livestock financing fund you can use to purchase cattle or release equity in your stock.

I’m guessing like SellMyLivestock which used to be really good until you have to pay to message people. I sold and bought quite a bit on that with a lot of repeat clients
No charge to view, message or buy, we take a 2% commission on sales.

Cant say im a massive fan of these schemes because its all going further down the road of contracts BUT there are plenty of cash poor farmers who it would appeal too and work for. Not sure why they wouldnt just get an OD though unless they have one of those as well which would set alarm bells off

OD is an expensive way to borrow money. It can also be recalled at any time.

It's very similar to factoring an invoice. Aids cashflow and reduces amount of capital tied up in stock.

It will work for some businesses and not for other.

How can the app weigh them
?'..surely you need a set of scales
It can estimate weights if you have a starting weight, has variable accuracy I find.
You can just use the desktop version if you don't want it on your phone although the phone app is pretty simple to use on the whole.

Data and future pipeline supply information. I would imagine most farmers want to keep that information within the fold?
Don’t John Deere sell the information they gather from onboard machinery during harvest to the likes of Bloomberg so they can gamble and make loads of cash on futures trading based on real time crop yield information or is that a rural myth?

Breedr was founded by a farmer and is staffed by farmers, we absolutely believe that farmers own their own data and have the right to choose who they share it with. We make it incredilby clear in our terms and conditions that we won't share your data, or an aggregated view of the data with anyone.

Until the company is bought out or the offer is otherwise to good to refuse.
