Brewing your own silage Inoculant

I have been doing it for a number of years with a nutrient mix supplied by a micro biologist. The complicated bit is buffer to prevent the acid the bacteria produce killing them all before you get enough for 1million per gram of grass.
Can be done though.

Thanks for all the replies ,
got milk powder ,will look for some dextrose,
been making live system since the early days but I'm not impressed with the more instant type of product its become. Like to think we are applying a live and working bacteria.

Identical to me, been multiplying up using proper nutrient at 1/3 cost of Livesystem. Supplier of nutrient gave up so used instant. Cannot believe there is anything like the number of bacteria in instant that I was applying with home brew.

2kg milk powder
25gram additive (Lactobasillus type)
in 25l bucket of warm water kept at 37degrees for 24-36hr
will treat a minimum of 150t

use litmus paper to test the solution is ph4, dont cook it - over 40degrees
How would you keep a 25l bucket of water at constant 37 degrees for 24 hrs?
