Brexit will happen! What's next?

The biggest problem will be getting the EU or anybody else to sit down and negotiate any sort of trade deal in a time frame that doesn't include decades. They haven't rushed with massive deals like the US or South America so it could take a long time with just one country.

aye but they are markets they have not fully got in to yet, so the only way is up, if they lose our market, it will have a knock on effect, but the germans know this hence all the big beasts coming out, idk what the german public are like, do they respect their politicians more than we do? maybe they think we actually believe them

imports will rise alright there will be more of them from everywhere
There should be the import tariff on them and make them dearer, that is if the EU puts an export tariff on us, , so will be much the same as today in trade, you cannot please everyone, its what would be good for the country, and if you think we would be better in the EU,
Tell me how farming is going to get better, as we can trade with them now, and prices are sh.t, so how are they going to get better by staying in

Prices will get lower but we'll be compensated by higher payments for coppicing hedges and rebuilding stone walls and then spend the other 7/8ths of our lives filling out forms and taking photos of the work. That way we can give up actual food production and entrust it all to dark sheds in Eastern Europe.

There will be a big shortage of British lamb in France.
Aye there will.

And too much here without export.

£5 sheep again.

Might be wanting to shift to France soon to keep farming.

Only problem will be the £ won't be able to buy any land.

Leave looks very bad for farming. Looks bad for asset values and investments too.

A 30% to 50% drop in the £ means £2.50 a litre fuel too.

All the talk of brands and marketing from the leavers is a sure sign they have no real policy or hope for us.

I believe we have a perfect opportunity to produce a premium, GM free range of products which might be sought after worldwide. In my humble opinion, our best strategy is to get out, up the welfare, bin the sprays and up the prices. Get back to rotational farming proper and charge what we like. If EU consumers are being bombarded with awful food from the US through TTIP, they will be looking for a premium alternative.

It does look like we are leaving according to the polls. I also think that Leave voters will be more likely to vote, unless it looks a done deal and Remain people are motivated to come out and stop it.

Labour will not win the next election I don't think. It's a done deal for the Tories.
Do you think it's coming out in the poles now that we are for leaving and will result in a bigger turnout from the remainers?

We won't leave. Even if we vote to leave (which I severely doubt) we won't be allowed to leave. What you have to remember is that a vote for leave means nothing, as we (the voters) have no direct control of power. The people in charge of the country (the government) are almost entirely Remainers, as are the people in the Civil Service, Local Government etc etc. They are the people who will be responsible for making a Brexit actually happen and they don't want it to happen, so they will do everything they can to thwart any vote for leave.

Does anyone really think that the people who have been telling us lie after lie about how the world will end in we vote to leave are suddenly going to be transformed on 24th June to tireless workers for Brexit? Of course they won't. And they are the ones with the reins of power. And they'll do everything with that power to make sure they get what they want, regardless of how we (the public) vote.

Possible I guess. I think when the polls are tight, the 'losing' side might be motivated to come out and make the difference. If the gap is big, they may not bother at all. If the 10% gap is correct, I suspect the latter will be the case. If it's 44/46 then who ever is on the 44 side will probably be more motivated to vote but then I suppose the 46ers might too. Who knows really?

There isn't enough people to buy your GM free premium products, most people want cheap food and don't care where it comes from. I hope if we do vote out we can't be growing GM crops within 2 years,it's the only way we can compete against the rest of the world when are markets are opened up to proper free trade by the brexit lot to bring down food prices

if we all started growing GM crops would we be allowed to sell our grain on a worldwide market?

NO NO NO the people have the power when it comes right down to it
ignore a popular demand like this and they may well find themselves in trouble
