I see the EU have given their thoughts on the election result, they don't know if MEP's will vote it through, European court might stop it. because they are worried some EU citizens might be left stateless, well, if they are worried, talk to Boris, I expect he will listen, and act if necessary, if...... they give us a free trade deal !
But it does show the EU's tactics, divide, threaten, interfere, and generally pouring oil onto fire. It is clear that they did not expect the result to be so explicit, and has rather limited their options, of how to respond, and, no doubt, has shown other member states, the true extent, of anti commission feeling, in other states. I am in no doubt, that the commission want's the trade deal to be as hard for the UK, as they can make it, but they have lost the vote, and some of the member states, will put their own economies, ahead of the coms wishes.
It is accepted that the EU economy is stagnant, unemployment is high, compared to the UK announcing the lowest unemployment rate since 1974, and a slowly expanding economy, which may well speed up. I simply do not think member states can afford not to have a good deal, and can therefore protect their own economies.. Time will tell, but it will be interesting to see the commissions negotiating.

Sounds like desperation to me. They've been bent over the fender and no Vaseline, trying to find a way to salvage some credibility.

It's a game of Blink, they blinked, therefor they lost. The key here is to follow tthrough on Boris' plan to withdraw by a certain date. Rest assured they will come around, likely at the very last minute and Boris will be holding all the Aces.

Irish premier, unhappy that a harder, than expected Brexit looks likely, well, tough, he played the hard man pre Boris, therefore hard luck !!! The commission is still playing, can't do a trade deal, will take longer than a year, got to be alignment with EU rules etc, but other than Ireland, haven't seen any other member comment, I would suspect, they are looking at how much trade each does with UK. Lets hope common sense prevails, the cream on the cake, would be the return of a 'common market', minus the 'commission' !

There was a cracking effort by Hillary Benn yesterday; he said that in the election '...a majority voted either to remain or for a choice whether to leave or remain...' :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

What a total prat - as if we didn't know that already - because and by his reckoning. an even bigger majority voted either to leave or for a choice whether to leave or remain. Obviously looking at it that way wasn't helpful to him. :ROFLMAO:
