We have some great tips for entering on the website but if anyone needs any more information we are happy to help, we've had some great entries so far so good luck to everyone :)

Deadline for entries is the 31st July

I think that there are already too many farming award competitions. Off the top of my head I can list Farmers Weekly, Farmers Guardian, British Farming Awards, British Pig Industry, Pig and Poultry Marketing, BBC Food and Farming and there must be more.
There must be a case for slimming down the number or there is a danger of them becoming rather devalued.

Very very good! Lol

call me an old cynic, but there's got to be something in it for people organising all these awards, especially as you can nominate yourself. Probably a very expensive table to buy at the awards night.
Sounds as bad as the farmers weekly awards, which is one reason i'm cancelling my sub, as it goes on for weeks and is only a cheap way of filling the magazine.

I know the guy who won "Farmer of the Year" a few years back in FW. Let's just say if he is the best UK ag has to offer the industry is buggered!

The sight of the first category switched me off totally, 'Hero'

I understand the definition of a Hero of Heroine, as someone who faces danger, adversity, shows courage and acts to benefit all humans.

It must be one of the most miss used words in the English language at the moment, for goodness sake they even describe footballers as 'Heros'
