British friesian bulls

I'm not saying a hard calving bull, just not an easy one on mature cows. I find here that the more powerful calf usually turns into the more powerful cow if that's what you're looking for. Provided she doesn't die during the pull!:dead: But it is hard to argue with your figures.

what I am asking is, the hols seem to have got themselves in a place where a lot of farmers are looking at alterative breeds. one cause is the fraility of some hols, and is a facter the need for easy calving bulls for use on hfrs, one of the reasons why.
if so, will the fr end up in the same place by using easy calving bulls. I fully accept their are bulls that don't. but am concerned that it may happen

been looking at cogent fr catalogue, nearly all are easy calving, I have always thought that the downfall of the holstiens was the fact that the replacement rate was high, therefore needing easy cavling so we could use hfrs to get replacements, and ending up with thin chested, tall, weaker cows, so, are the fr breed going down the same root ? looking at the grazing catalogue, there is only 1 pure fr, most have a lot of holstien in them, with a bit of jersey in some. think we need Friesian fans thoughts.

Easy calving and narrow chest width don’t always go together. Look at the photo of Goonhilly James above. He’s easy calving and certainly not narrow!
