Spent last weekend sorting out bulls for this season. Put in order to Genus and Cogent on Monday. The 3 bulls I want to used sexed, genus have none available. WTF. Good luck Arla producers trying to reduce the dairy bull calves.

Thats interesting because I ordered some sexed Brilliant and was told it is available in limited quantities

Yep genus sexcel is only available in a handful of bulls I thought they would have had more available by now

Put plenty Premier in the tank again this week. Waiting on Jingle from genus sounds that could take a while. Bryster and Samson calves coming thick and fast the now very impressed. This sexed advance is a game changer that’s me fully calving down the now and it’s a bloody pleasure heifers and blues

The jersey a few beds back looks a little small for her cubicle. How long until you dry right off?

Ha ha yeah the jerseys have plenty of room!

Been once a day since 1st nov and plan to dry off sometime next week before xmas.

All the in calf heifers are in with the cows and I have been running them through the parlour to get used to it before calving.

Those cows would fit lovely into out herd, we have a couple of red friesian, nice to have something diffrent to look at in the parlour, very envious of your sand beds, we are stuck with mattresses and sawdust as have slats

Now that genomics has been available for friesians for over 3 years, are people pleased with there first heifers coming through and how similar to their original figures do they seem to be? Spoke to a couple of breeders who seemed very sceptical at the time, just wondering if people are more confident in them now. Our oldest genomic heifers still only calves, look good but yet to see properly.
