British friesian bulls

You could pick the 1 Quentin out of a herd of a 1000 other sires no problem. They all have the Quentin 'fro !
thankyou, its been bugging me, it's nice to know i'm not totally stupid !
Don't worry your not being stupid, me and the mrs spend alot of time laughing at our cows top nots. Ours are very friendly so we can brush their top not hair in to some crazy styles ha ha.
Our Quentins are ridiculously quiet, and some have 'fros but do we think all BFs have more hair?

This is an example of a Patrol bred 'fro. Very neat and tidy.

And this is a Quentin bred fro. It's a bushy mess but very cool.

got a tarquin 3rd calver, dropped from 30 l/day, down to 11.6 a day, in 4 weeks after getting in calf, at least she got in calf 1st time, 367 day c/index. She dried herself off early last year, 5250 litres, any one else finding the same?
Just realised, she's a typical, not good uddered , low yielding, fat Friesian from the 60/70's, with a fringe.
perhaps the hols were a good idea back then. She will make a good barrener, but as we are down, she will stay around.

How bizarre, Cogent rep has just left here and we were talking about Tarquins because that is what they do! Never had any so not a problem for me!

We have only one tarquin but no problem she does tend to dry herself off a bit early but normally holds first time so not really a problem.

just had the cogent hol catalogue, 85 bulls, only 9 proven, several have high £sci indexes, but I don't think I would like to use them for aggressive grazing, we have been using dutch Friesian bulls, these bulls are pretty well proven, and none are genomic, and some are 8 yrs + and still with good pli, with good components and type. But the holstien breeders are beginning to produce 'grazing types', it will be interesting to see how long it takes to get a holstien, that stands aggressive grazing, walks, and lasts and milks of limited concentrate
