She’s by Goonhilly Joseph, I’d have to look what her mother is, grandmother premier, her great grandmother by Quentin is still in herd due her seventh at moment, her dam was a rancher which did 7/8 lactations.

Thinking about using GTW on my cows next year. Anyone got any opinions on him? My general breeding aims are good solids from a smaller stature fr cow.

Well I've seen calved heifers off another centurion son called firoda centurion and I thought that they were some of the nicest heifers, friesian or holstein, that I've ever seen.

I have 2 GTW daughters, a heifer and a 2nd calver. D.C is turning out to be one of the great friesian bulls with lots of his sons and grandsons doing really well. GTW has an unusual pedigree and if I can avoid DC lines I will use him again. His figures are starting to look very good.

Third calved chad, one of my favourites. Rear attachment could be a bit stronger but spot on otherwise

unfortunately, my phone hasn't got a camera, but, if it did, i could have put a brilliant picture up, of some superb black and white fr hfrs, met morphing into a complete brown colour, grazing kale.

If you take his milk away from him just looks like an average bull to me. Maybe I’m missing something.

I'm not massively in to bulls and genetics so pretty useless at understanding the figures.

What would you say about his size and stature? I would like a smaller cow so would he help achieve this? Are there any bulls that will give a smaller stature with decent fertility, milk, bf and protein figures?

but that is from the friesian base, it all depends on what yield, you expect/want from your cows. If you are bimbling along, at 6500 liters, a -ve milk isn't going to make much difference, 10,000 liters, probably disastrous. Then, if you have a dairy stock bull, with a guessitmated pli, he can throw brilliant calves. Luck of the draw, or, you can wait, and the hol breeders, will select, from their massive gene pool, the absolutely fantastic grazing holstien, that, grazes, doesn't need buffer feeding, nor a highly complex, and expensive diet, but does get i/c, and gives lots of high quality milk !

Don't want tall cows.
Want width and capacity.
Want milk.

Don't want negative chest width.
Don't want negative milk.

Have good legs and feet
Have longevity barreners sent yesterday, none under 10.

The right holstein can deliver as well as friesians but just like friesian you have to pick your bulls.

Which is more important, positive chest width or rump width?
