British Sugar spill kit

Yesterday's post brought an envelope from British Sugar, labelled 'Spill Kit' - on opening there is a polythene bag and a cable tie. Nothing else, no information.
I am assuming it is for seed spills, but the bag has holes in it (presumably anti-suffocation) which are slightly larger than beet seed.....can anyone suggest why BS are sending these out?

I was similarly patronised when mine turned up assume the holes are for the cable tie but honestly; what a complete waste of time and resources.

You should put a few seeds and a handful of soil in the bag and post it back to them .

Is it BS way of avoiding any neonic beet seed left lying around on the soil, any slight spills might be seen as unlawful use of the product/ BS trying to avoid any potential backlash from the greens etc?

I don’t know what’s got into their new man, two price rises in the last 3 weeks, he might actually offer a fair price for next year at this rate?!

Got my spill kit come through yesterday.
Talk about creating waste as mine will go straight in the bin! Find it quite insulting as they seem to treat growers like morons as if we dont know what we are doing.

I saw on twitter that it was a condition of the Neonic derogation that British Sugar send these things out?

I had to reread a few posts before realising that BS stood for British Sugar and not Bull Excrement.
