Do it every year here spin um on and a very light disc and roll job done . Sorry we use a logic slug pelleter . You can do half rate one way and then at another angle for the second pass just to be sure you have the field covered .
We also spin on cover crops put the oats on with fert spinner and home mix small seeds and do the same.

Has any done the above? could do with a starting figure on machine setting, spread width and speed to put o 5kg/h, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

There are online tables for this. Is it a Lehner? I've attached an old instruction manual for mine. The tables are at the back.

There’s no substitute for a proper calibration and tray test but sort the flow rate in the yard for 1/2 seed rate, run the disc at full speed and drive at 6m on 12m settings as above for a decent overlap.

They are prone to failing if not kept spotless, had 2 new ones in 5 years £175 a time and pain to fit. Lesson learned.

I just cannot believe that any rotating disc slug pelleter can achieve a low enough yet consistent flow to put turnips on at 5 kg/ha, (which is twice as thick as they should be anyway).
We tried it with an old machine and you would have to be doing nearly 40 mph to get the rare right at the minimum flow that ran consistently and didn't bridge, but I live in hope that one day I will be proved wrong.
