Broken bell housing

f**king livid with myself, split a zetor 3011 to replace a gear putting it back together and broke a piece of the bell housing off on the flywheel side.
Anyone know any good welders in Somerset who would weld it in situ?
Or what are my other options?

On an unrelated note I could do with a new 19mm spanner having dropped mine across the workshop very shortly after breaking the casting :mad:

Can we assume you were pulling the engine and bell housing together with the bolts and the spigot shaft and clutch splines weren't lined up?
Did the spanner cross the workshop at a rate of knots and suddenly disappear?

Sorry to hear that, easy done ...........
Can you throw a picture up as there was probably to many bolts in it anyway?

Cast iron (stubs) rods will weld it for you, just depends how hard it is to get room to work.
And consider a bracket to take any strain off the weld (probably never move)

Them 19mm spanners can shift if you get the angle just right .........

Didn't get any photos. Will get a couple on Monday when I'm back home.
Top two holes on the left hand side plus a piece of bell housing have come off.
Didn't look too closely as I wasn't going to be fixing it this side of Christmas.

No idea, I was trying to get an image in my head what the break looked like.

You will probably end up welding the break and if not big, leaving it at that. After all where is it going to go?
If there is quite a bit broken out, consider making a reinforcement bracket to catch the broken stud holes as well as the other good ones to spread the load. This will take a bit of time to get it to look "factory" after painting. The engine side looks quite flat behind the holes, so mightn't be that hard to do ........

If you could get a baby grinder in?
And then mix a bit of Isopon P40 (or equivalent) and just take the edges off the weld with a bit on your finger, then paint.

Tidy repair .......... (y)
I missed off the ugly uphill fiddly weld:LOL: but its back together.

Although judging by the way the clutch is now not working properly I might have to split it again. Not as much play in new pto gears
