Does anyone know if it has any effect on thistles? No label claims but I think it would likely check it? Any experience appreciated......

Oh. What size are the thistles? Without the MCPA EAMU for linseed you're legally stuffed on these unless you rotate clopyralid labels for a second dose. An Eagle/bromoxynil mix has been ok on small thistles in the past & cleans up most other small weeds.

What is bentazone like on thistles? Nothing on the label and this problem is starting to look expensive too. @Premium Crops ?

I'm aware it is expensive! Would rather not use bentazone. Could mix SU with the bromoxynil.

Does anyone know if this Chem does hogweed/ cow parsley in cereals - and if not what might ?
The obvious choice would be glyphosate, but obviously can't be used on the surrounding cereals.

Triclopyr is also supposed to work, but it is only available in mix with other active ingredients, and none have approval in cereals (only grassland)

MCPA + 2,4D will have a good go. Approved on cereals....

Beware the cut off growth stages for cereals for hormones like these. 2,4D cut off is GS30. Same with Easel MCPA but certain circumstances can be GS39. Starane XL goes up to GS 45 depending on the cereal crop but I don't know how good this will be on those weeds.

Always read the label! Fluroxypyr is used for killing linseed in cereals...

Good point re growth stages. Maybe MCPA + Ally Max?

Here's what 2 litres of Troy 480 ( bentazone) plus a litre of oil does to thistles in beans. 5 days after treatment

Use metsulfuron methyl. Du Pont Jubilee has a Creeping Thistle on the label. Be prepared for a stunted crop

Used jubilee in linseed in the past with zinc as recommended by @Premium Crops , problem was had little or no effect on weeds or linseed. Was very dry and when agronomist contacted DuPont they blamed lack of moisture. I have a hunch though that the zinc was a contributory factor.
