Are P&B struggling or just wanting to empty the yards of stock that hasn't shifted in a season or two?
They have a sale every year (this is the 35th) All their stuff will have reserves on but I'd say more than half of the lots are put in by local farmers.
They started it when the local collective machinery sale (Caenby Corner) folded.
The day when P&B are struggling will be the day when most of the rest of us have gone bust.

Missed the obvious "35th sale" in my rush to see what is in the sale. Is it usually a decent sale?

Yeah.
There will usually be a lot more stuff than what's in the catalogue - farmers round here never get things entered on time! (Brown's website might list late entries)
Some of P&B's catalogued lots are not forced to be there - spoke to a chap last night whose old combine is advertised (traded in to P&B) but it won't be there 'cos they've already sold it.
If you've got your eye on some thing it's safest to ring the auctioneers to save wasting a journey.
