Brown&co / PandB

I bid on the Manitou 735, I was the highest bidder when it was only me and it hadn't made the reserve and it stopped short, I said I'd like to have a deal if they let me know how much they wanted, an hour later they said they'd sold it to someone else without saying anything about price

Quite a few cheap bits of kit there I thought

That’s a sh1t trick but it happens more and more these days puts me right off trying to buy anything

Perhaps @Chris Purllant can explain the crack that happened here then

So can I just clarify.......you bid on online via proxibid and know you were the only bidder or were you in the field? If online I'm not quite sure how you can be certain you were the only bid. I'm not in charge of the sale just assist with the selling until we finish the final lot. As far as I can see it was sold after the sale at the reserve price that another buyer offered so there was no deal to be had. Purchase under the hammer when the lot is offered is always the best way forward. Please call the office tomorrow if you'd require any further clarification.

Bid online, I'm not saying I was the only bid but I was the last bid, it says that on proxibid, I bid from £20k to £25k I then got hold of Brown and Co to see if I could have a deal, I expected to be run up to the reserve, I said to Brown and Co that I'd like to have a deal if they could let me know what they wanted, they came back later and said P&B had sold it. I'll call the office if the Manitou becomes available if not I can't see what there is to talk about

Perhaps the purpose of putting it in the auction was to value the machine for a "preferred bidder", maybe it wasn't for sale to anybody else, unless it went for stupid money because two farmers had got their dicks out.
