Remember a cheap digger will be very expensive if you end up paying twice either because the first one does not exist or has an engine held together with sugar and sawdust.

I think its a professional scammer. What is the c''ts phone number?

Assuming that website has any real relationship to the registered company BT Equipment UK... and is not just imitating them Having £115K in assets is hardly what I would call a "one stop shop" machinery dealer! Certainly not the level of stock I would consider for a business to have enough scale to justify trips to in Italy to buy machinery...

And as above... the website seems to have been taken down...?

Also... a Whois search also suggests that website only came into existence yesterday? I expect the same website will pop up on a new domain within days,

I totally agree with you. We are eager to find one for a build starting in 2 weeks. We were searching Ireland but they're very scarce and it's very appealing when you find one a bit cheaper and in much better condition in uk. Weve never done this before and my gut is screaming at me to find out more info before we part with cash.
The strangest thing is that hes not willing to do any dealings until he gets back to uk and hes not looking for money at the moment. Thought if he was a scammer that hed be trying to get the money straight away and run.
Don't bloody do it now either. Forget about it. Dump it out of your mind unless you enjoy being fleeced. Find something from a well known established dealer with a good reputation and go and see the actual machine before parting with your money. If you can't physically come over to see it, ask ask for detailed fresh pictures of specific items........ no, just don't do it. You don't seem experienced enough to see a scam and the way it's drawing you in to win your confidence. They are called 'confidence tricksters' for a good reason.

All of this.
There are diggers for sale in Ireland. Go and look at them.
Digger in England, salesman in Italy? Just look at what you have written and think for a minute

Yes I've taken that onboard. I wont be parting cash until I have it in the flesh. Thanks for the advice though?

Any diggers in ireland that I've looked at are rough and out of my price range. Lot of rust for the money.6000 sterling or about 7000 euros.
All of this.

For any 'build' do not go below 3 tons. You will need all the power and capacity of a 3 tonner and below this you'll really struggle. I have a 7.5 ton machine and most of the time is is on less than 1000RPM to dig. Ok not for you but something to seriously consider.
Look at Takeuchi TB235 as an example.
Just the simple act of loading a trailer or dumper will be beyond a smaller machine.
I have a 'micro' digger and I have to load my tractor bucket first & then into the trailer. 'Tis great in a room, scraping up old brickwork and gardening but not for actual building digs
