Budget inverter welder

We are still a member, i'd back up most recommendations including GYS, Parweld and Jasic. The only thing one i'd avoid is SIP, they're not known for the quality of their welders and there's plenty on the market from out and out welding manufacturers for less than £550.

We have 6 sip welders(pro series)on production work. No problems so far.

I bought a GYS from @Welding Supplies Direct for about £160, very happy with it, no issues so far, about 1 year or so down the line. Welds 3.2 rods no problem, could do up to 4mm I think.

We also have a GYS, cost the same amount so probably the same model. We bought it to save the 2 migs getting dragged about as much, its un real how much we use it, it gets thrown into the pick up, dumped in cow muck and just keeps goimg.

ive got a Silverline inverter welder - and it really is poverty spec , buy it welds and has done for a couple of years too,

I bought it because it was cheap and if it got nicked like my last welder it wasn't too much to loose.

Budget? What is a budget machine these days, some of those fleabay boxes are cheap as chips seem decent specs and almost disposable!
Bought a x display sip a few years ago great for gate hooks etc. and light as a feather, think a pack of rods will weigh more but the cables are too stiff and short but what do you expect for a sub £100 budget.

Another vote for R-Tech here, have two of them and both are inverter welders and fantastic bits of kit for the price. The arc welder is light enough to carry anywhere and the Mig does a great job and is easy to set up.
