In my experience of a large number of places you quote they are full of spivvy "professionals" making a fortune selling tax avoidance and evasion schemes and in reality are no more than money launderers dressed in posh suits working for the very wealthy of the world whose moral compass is focussed on "me me me".Plenty of companies already pay next to zero tax on profits generated in this country.....so we may as well have something out of them rather than nothing.
Monaco don't seem to be doing too badly on it.
In fact, taking a list of tax havens...Andorra, the Bahamas, Belize, Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, the Channel Islands, the Cook Islands, The Island of Jersey, Hong Kong, The Isle of Man, Mauritius, Lichtenstein, Monaco, Panama, St. Kitts, and Nevis. They all sound rather inviting places - may as well add UK to that list.
Dont even start me on Miele, suffice to say no more in Mrs' house.Get yourself a couple of new Miele appliances.
Reminds me of us doing some work on an old Windmill, (long story don't ask ) it was supervised by English Heritage (I think) with lots of rules and regs, there was a slightly more modern entrance area that needed some repairs to plasterwork, they specified lime plaster, it was unfortunate that the woman from English Heritage turned up the day we were repairing it with "Wickes one coat plaster" luckily it was a lime colour and she never spotted it (says a lot about "experts")your right , neighbour had inspection regard planning on his mothers old house , conservation bloke wouldnt let them renew front door as it was supposed ancient , chap looked embarrassed when neighbour told him he knocked it up in a woodwork class out of an old table when he was at school, some 40 odd years ago lol

Look on the bright side. Masses of plebs, will gorge on burgers, for naff all, driving the price of culls through the roof.
Dies the scheme apply to fast food takeaways?Look on the bright side. Masses of plebs, will gorge on burgers, for naff all, driving the price of culls through the roof.
I reckon a fair few people have quite a nice bit of cash saved up- no holidays, no takeaways, no pub, no gym, etc etc etc? Besides pornhub premium what is there to spend your money on?
Actually 25 percent of families have next to no savings.
I'm impressed how much whining there has been from industries that didn't get a cash handout. It's as if the theatres etc have learnt from farmers! Personally I'd rather live in a world without Andrew Lloyd Webber shows.

Large number of retired households out of the traditional final salary pension schemes will have banked their lump sum. For the future, defined benefit schemes more likely lump sum will be smaller and based on cashing in some of the capital for the tax free element. Not sure in future large swathes of the population will have similar ability to put sums away for a rainy day. Also if the attraction of paying for everything monthly continues it will never happen save homeowners downsize.According to the stats 25% of people have less than £100 savings.
Where do you stand in the savings divide?
Low income families have just £95 in savings and investments, compared to the £62,885 held by high income families, a new report says. We look at what is going on?www.thisismoney.co.uk
Sadly today though anyone who saves is seen as "lucky" rather than prudent - it's almost frowned upon to have savings. The above article headling being a prime example:
Quarter of UK households have less than £100, but the richest have £63k
Does it make you "rich" to have £63k?
It could be you've worked hard and saved and saved and saved for a decade or more rather than spending it down the pub, on clothes, or shelling out each month on an expensive PCP deal.
