Building a shed on a aha tenanted farm.

Is there any sort of standard right off or hand over period to the landlord if I was to build and pay for a shed on tenanted land. It's a shed we need to comply with NVZ rules as other livestock sheds we have are impractical and need major structural repairs.

The Landlord may well be obliged to provide the building if it is a legal requirement.

We are in a similar situation, need a new shed for cattle but we can only have it if it becomes the landlords in 10 years and he wants other old building back off of us at the same time. This then has the knock on effect that we would then need to build an even bigger shed at greater cost to ourselves just to have to hand it over.

If we were about 5 miles down the road seven Trent would of paid for most of the shed, concreted most of the yards and given me a sprayer wash down area. But apparently it doesn't cover use as our water ends up just down stream for the drinking water extraction point along with the overflow from the local sewage pumping station.

If you’re on a multi generational AHA bung the shed up at your own cost and then tell the landlord it’s theirs, and the responsibility of maintenance and repairs is also theirs.

We‘ve got probably 2500m sq of 60 year old buildings that have porous asbestos roofs/rusted purlins/rusted stanchions that the landlord will have to either repair or replace in the next few years. They have patched them up in the last few years but are coming round to the idea they will have to replace them all soon.

That's all ok if your landlord hasn't managed to wriggle out of any repair responsibility through a very badly worded written rent review and claims it still stands to this day.
