Bulk milk test issues.

What is happening here, bearing in mind consistent day to day management of the herd?

More specifically fat levels.

The herd was full time housed from the 4th November, but was on 75%+ winter ration before that.

Protein levels are lower with the lower fats, and ureas are higher? My only theory, to this point, is the sample is being taken from some other source.

It has been suggested that the sample was coming from the top, but a bottom feed silo rules that out.

We did have this problem once. But we just double sampled for a while. Did find the first one was way out. After we pointed it out sort of got closer together.

If it was coming from the top bf would be higher. But the vet said the other day SCC would be higher too it clings to the butter fat. She's just done her cell count course. Ihave you asked anybody else on your tanker run if they have the same issues. You might be surprised what you find

We have just had an issue with occasional low butterfat, on everyday testing. Hasn't caused a payment issue yet but on further investigation one driver consistently has lower fat than the others, almost all of his pick ups. We assume he is failing to stir properly.

If there's no driver name is there a driver id number? We still get a number even with no name.

No number either, they pretty much collect straight after pm milking. Milk is usually still cooling therefore being agitated. I will check the pick up times in case they are later and could be unagitated.
