Bull suckling cows

Brought him in at end of November, built him up to 9kgs a day of 2/3 lamb pellets and1/3 barley because that's what we had. Took him to Darlington with a bullock we also had on 20th January. He looked really well. It was definitely the right thing to do because he would chase the bullock round the pen trying to suck himo_O

we had a buggar this year, 1 sucking in a bunch of 7 dairy hfrs, missed it, 3 calved in 3/4, and the fattest of the bunch, is the sucker, with a spike in, also gives the most milk. Expensive mistake

I remember my father modifying a bull ring by fitting 6 pop rivet spikes into the ring.
Unfortunately i cannot remember the outcome!

When we put a ring in a bulls nose we put a sack over his head so he dosen't know who did it.

There is evidence that calves are less stressed at dehorning if they cannot see what is happening.

Would one of those stress free weaning things work, never seen one but heard about them.?
