Bullock blowing up from sucking heifers

Hi, after a bit of advice as I've a bullock doing my head in. I've a 10month old limi x bullock that keeps sucking heifers and for some reason it makes it self blow up and I have to tube it. I first noticed what it was doing about 2months ago, I got a nose spike thing and just left it with a bullock on there own and it's been fine since then. However I've mixed it back with its group today ready for winter and it's done the exact same and I've had to tube it. I'm not sure what to do really now as I dont have space to pen it up all winter on it's own and I'm not sure making a hole in it will help much as it will still suck. Are the metal spikes better as it's just plastic that I have and it must be still able to suck even wearing it. Thanks for the advice!!

Try the harsher metal one and/or sell the bullock

Would you sell it in culls? I dont want to really stick it in the market as a store as someone else will have the same bother!

It’s 10 months old....sell it as a store....who is going to mix it with cows at that age....

Well it's just sucking young heifers at the moment? So it would just need keeping on it's own with bullocks really

I’m pretty sure at 10 months old anyone who buys it would pen it in a yard of similar cattle....wants spaning at that age anyway

It's not a suckler calf, it's a dairy x bucket reared animal

Not your problem once its sold and there is a fair chance it will get put in with a bunch of steers. Try the metal nose spikes first.
