Bunji or springs for self closing gates

If you don't use the gate often drive a big post in so it can only open a few feet.

I’ve done that, along with a chain attached a foot or so out from the hinges, with a lump of assorted scrap attached in the middle to weigh it down. Obviously not as easy to open, but it swings shut behind the most lazy & inconsiderate of wanderers.

I try do the offset hinge on new gates but alot are old metal or stone stoops
A few gates on bridle ways hopefully won't get any complaints horsey brigade
