What height do people have experience of storing grain to without bolting these walls to the ground?
3m?
3.5m?

and can you load from one side without bolting?

manufacturers claims vary and I want farmer experience if possible

and can anyone recommend a manufacturer?

Thanks

I’ve got the Moore 2.4m bunker walls down the centre of my 18m wide grain store. Not bolted down and often have full depth of grain one side & nothing the other. Have most of the heap closer to 3m deep but taper down to the 2.4m at top of bunker wall.
Have been in position 8 years now and they’ve not moved at all.

It depends on the design and maker, hence the differences you note. 'L' shaped ones rely on the weight of the grsin on the toe to stop them turning over. You don't need to bolt those down that require it, just dril for some rebar and grout it in with cement. The manufacturer will advise. It does their reputation no good if the things fail!

Not grain, but I’ve got 3. 5 m panels from JP concrete dividing a silage pit loaded to just above the panel one side and they don’t move..............not from the weight of silage anyway, I usually end up rubbing the manitou wheel against them when emptying the pit and that will move them if there isn’t silage the other side but it’s no big deal to slide them back.
Would have thought there would be more pressure with silage, with two tractors weighted up to approx 10 ton on the clamp.
