Burgers made from chaff - what will they think of next

Amen. I'd just add that there is an increasing number of "scientists" who are scientifically illiterate. The world becomes a scarier place every single day.

I'm not sure about being "scientifically illiterate" but advances in science has created such specialisation that their immense knowledge of a narrow field is at the expense of being rather ignorant in other areas.
Most of the great advances have occurred when experts in entirely different subjects have almost accidentally helped each other.
One of the greatest assets of a farmer is having a broad knowledge of many trades and hopefully the wisdom to understand how much they don't know.

The ā€œnations most popularā€ sausage maker Richmond are advertising meat free bacon šŸ˜”. I can imagine it wouldnā€™t be a big step to make the switch to a meat free copy of their sausages!!

Writing is on the wall!
Thatā€™s my theory with why supermarket sausages are so shite and tasteless, if they make the real stuff bad enough, consumer doesnā€™t notice when the meat isnā€™t there coz itā€™s basically all filler and crap anyway.

20 odd years ago I recall wondering why on Earth every young person in the world seems to want to get a degree.

Now Iā€™m not saying we should deny anybody and education, far from it, but if you want to go to uni, have an aim in life. Half these kids go just to make up the numbers. They have no idea why theyā€™re there and no plan for their useless degree once theyā€™ve left.

However, once theyā€™ve got that scroll they have to justify the degree, which some do by dreaming up this kind of total wanksnot and others do by getting two shifts a week in Burger King.

They seem to have forgotten totally that there are nowhere near the amount of careers that need a degree as there are graduates looking, so they dream up ever more ridiculous ideas like this.

We need more people who are happy to empty bins. If we donā€™t have such people then we really WILL need more proper scientists and doctors.
I think Universities are doing more harm than good, at one time anyone coming out of Uni was highly educated, driven and well suited to a career in whatever subject they chose. Now it's just an extension of education for the sake of it, where the social life is as important as the degree.
They are more than likely to come through it as an entitled, woke, vegan, BLM activist who is an expert in box ticking and passing the buck but not much else.

That has been the case for decades....
