Nipped down to the local butcher's to put our order in for turkey and steak pies, the women says they have over 500 orders to prepare for next week, she says they've never had such a busy year despite the virus, great to hear, there suff is amazing but expensive,. Can't wait for Xmas & new year dinners.

Local butcher we deal with was saying she usually sells just over 100 turkeys, This year she has closed the book at 300

Yes everything is selling out, in bad times everybody likes returning to traditional things, real trees, turkey, steak pies are a big thing on new years day, think people are just saying f**k it let's go mad.

Ours said people were asking for his Xmas order forms since early November. There's been more staff in there since Covid they've been that busy.

Same with logs I supply to the local villages. So far sold more than I did during the whole of last winter. Tried cutting back advertising. That hasn’t worked. Tried putting the price up - just met with the question ‘do you do kindling as well?’ I think with more people working from home and others just wanting some added home comforts it will continue to be a very busy season.

Yes, l know a guy who sells kiln dry logs and says he's going to run out as well. So busy.

Busiest year for logs for quite some time going to run out of seasoned logs in January. I’ve been pushing some softwood I cut up last summer it’s selling better than I expected . I think it is down to people being at home more but also the grim weather helps.
