BUY -Beaver Tail Trailer.

Aye-up,

looking for a well built trailer WITH LONG LASTING QUALITIES.

16 ft bed, 4 ft beaver tail, twin x 8t axles with air and hyd brakes, sprung drawbar, excellent paint in JCB yellow.

Special bits to include twin hitches for tractor and Big A, special brackets to secure Loadall and 7.5t digger, flow-forge down the middle of the floor, hardwood boards on the rest, 435/50 19.5 tyres. Lowest ride height possible so a bit of imagination with wheel arches.

Best thing would be to visit my yard, have a look at my 20 year old trailer and make one the same but better.

Cheers, Pete.

Yes, well I thought that myself so I had a good look and I had a good chat with Mr. Stewart. We spoke about spec and timescale and just about every detail I wanted would be no problem.

Unfortunately he didn't quote me.

Strange! Whenever I've dealt with them I've had excellent service!

He did say that and to be fair, he apologised for not calling sooner.

Trouble is, now I have a dilemma....

Go for the super sleek job or the chap who has shown best interest and is coming to see me in the next few days?
Only fair to give the keener chap a chance to quote at least. I've crossed several suppliers off my list of people to ask for things for tardiness.

To cut a very long story short, I went with a fabricator named Titan Trailers and Structures in Brackley, Northants.

Main man Peter Reeve came to see me and had a measure up. The three quotes were all very close, Titans being the least by only £200 so that made no difference whatsoever. Thing is with Titan I will get more restraining points and higher spec axles. Peter showed me photos of what they had built before and I also know of other folks who have had stuff built by them. They all said I can't go wrong with Titan. In a strange twist it would seem that Peter supplied the kit form trailer which my brother welded together 18 years ago to make the one I still use to this day.

Peter will visit my yard again and have a final measure up. He wants me to visit their place a couple of times during the build just to make sure everything is ok and that was what finally swung it for me. Whilst I have absolutely no doubt the others would provide an excellent trailer, they were a good way from me and I would have to provide measurements for specific restraining points and other things I want building in. If I got it wrong, they build it wrong and I kick myself for years.

Should be contacting me soon to make a start and he did mention it might be done for New Year.

Thanks for asking.
