Think you need to ask yourself a few questions and then the dealer. How old is the tractor and what hrs if you had owned it from new would it still be able to be under power guard warrantee? If yes possibly jd have drawn to the conclusion when farmer mentioned that he was preferring idea of wheels over tracks of right cut our losses now get into a tractor with wheels and draw a line under this one. Therefore keep farmer happy for another day.

Right he’s happy so now fix tracked machine jd do not off load these sorts of machines themselves they financially assist dealer involved with firstly repairing it and then making sure it is on his books at the sort of money he can get out, and possibly give abit of warrantee on parts / problem area possibly to assist this. Dealer doesn’t give warrantee it comes via jd. Dealer is just that, a middle man helping jd clear up this mess he won’t be making much out of it but don’t feel sorry for him he won’t be loosing either because top and bottom this started with a jd product fault.

Therefore why aren’t you being offered any warrantee because basically in this case the well has run dry which should tell you something.

Is this a dealer local to you who you regularly deal with if so again he is quietly telling you something. If it is a local dealer to you who you don’t regularly with I would suggest he is looking at you as a way out but making sure you buy it with your eyes firmly open again very fair he isn’t doing anything wrong or underhand he doesn’t have to give a warrantee if he doesn’t want to in the same way the suggestion of hiring by someone above before buying is a good one as the dealers response will tell you a lot about how he feels about the machine and how it could all end up.

If you are out of area again he’s doing nothing wrong but if he can get it away outside of the area all the better but he doesn’t want to be coming out all the time to fix it. he’s out and over to you matey!!

I would suggest from the way this is sounding depending on how you answer above it will either disappear for a few months and then turn up in the trade or will be slotted onto a big customer to the dealers fleet as a hire / prope up machine and then moved on at the end of the season.

This is all abit public particularly as it has appeared on here as don’t be fooled jd will be reading this thread as will most probably the dealer concerned and discussions will be happening in the background.

Cheers

Alistair

Walk away. Are the new components merely the result of treating the symptoms of a problem elsewhere? There is a Friday afternoon and a Monday morning in every factory. This is a machine built in one of those time slots.

Just to clarify, once a machine out of warranty Deere are in NO way obliged to give additional warranty help to a dealer/customer! Any warranty given outside the initial warranty period is off the dealers back.

However Deere do on some occasions do a “special allowance” to assist a customer in the case of a major breakdown. This is totally at Deere’s discretion and reviewed on a case to case basis.
I know when I worked at the dealer the number of “special allowances” was cut every year. This isn’t to say they don’t still pip’s (product improvement programs) outside the warranty period.

Jesus did you see the state of it to put transmission back in, cab off the lot , rum and keep running!
There’s no way I would run something like that out of warranty, but I can see why the repair is expensive it’s major surgery.
That guys videos are great,

That’s a 9000r no need to remove the cab on an 8000r, the transmission sits between the engine and cab so will lift out the side. Use to be a day of a job to remove last time I did one, although it was an 8030 not an R.
