Buying land in Scotland

No need to kick a tenant out. If for some bizarre reason the SNP win an 'Independence' referendum then this farm might just be for sale. At a modest price premium of course, to reflect the impending prosperity that will rain down on us all when St Nicola fulfils her promise, and shakes the magic money tree*.

[* 1-The value of your investment may fall. 2- PSQ reserves the right of first refusal to buy back the farm when 'shaking the magic money tree' fails to work, and the asset value has dipped below 20% of its sale price.]

One day I might be wealthy.

If I was, could I buy tenanted farmland in Scotland & kick off the whinging tenants & farm it myself
Having been on the receiving end of a veritable unlubricated shafting from an England based landlord , and his 2 despicable pink cord wearing f..kwit henchmen, in a previous life, I don't think your almost humorous enquiry will elicit much enthusiasm up here I'm afraid.

Having said that , I can almost appreciate your dark northern English sense of humour, and wish you well on your quest, just make sure you do use plenty of lube, as @glasshouse says.

As a small aside, we met a very nice family from south Worcestershire viewing a farm that is for sale nearby, recently. They asked if we ever see much snow this far south in the borders???? showed them them the beast from the east pictures. Don’t think they will be putting an offer in

Good luck

Tyical English, come up here and make a mess of farming, thinking they know it all
Hmmmm, a local family to here moved up to Scotland about 30 years ago and judging by what I see on Facebook are running a very successful buisness, photos of the farm when they went there and what’s there now are worlds apart, I’d be surprised if they weren’t one of the best farms in the area, if they’re not your standards are very high.

you might be wealthy one day, chickens before they hatch, but will you be rich, being rich means enjoying what material things you have, and in good health to enjoy it, and endless happiness as you tread lightly on the path of life,
and likely the wealth your expecting is not enough to buy a vacant farm, instead you want a rented farm cheaper so you can put the tenants through misery, beggs the question of you could be more miserable and whinge more that the tenant farmers of Scotland or any other country,

Would it not depend on the nature of the tenancy? I'd imagine that a pre-91 heritable job would be nearly impossible. Why not just buy a vacant estate? There are plenty about and with the impending tax burdens and land reforms I would expect their value may be heading south soon.

They were welsh
Not sure of their long term pedigree but were definitely farming in England before moving , assuming we'rethinking of the same family which we probably are...........although to be fair, there aren’t many farms around here that aren’t farmed by people who have moved from Wales in the last 3 generations and as I’m a relative newcomer to England, only moving here a few years before the family I’m thinking of that moved to Scotland left I don’t know their longer term history
You lot wouldn’t be racist up there and be more accepting of the Welsh by any chance would you ????
