Has anybody bought Trimble gps gear from USA dealers i.e GFX750 screen and Nav900 currently on ebay for $3995 + $142 postage company called Agrinetix.
Would any import tax make it unviable.

What do you mean by platform kit, my understanding of a autosteer ready tractor is that you just needed a compatible receiver/controller and screen.
What licences would you need? cost?
Subscriptions depends how accurate I want to go?
Support would Trimble UK support it?
Agrinetix said they could supply what ever options I needed but wanted to see if anyone in UK has gone this route.
Suppose it's a bit like grey imports.

The platform kit is the wiring loom that actually plugs into that tractor. It's also the software that talks to it though this is likely in the system if it's new.
The system appears to be basic egnos as it says upgrade licences are available, this would usually refer to accuracy unlocks and the like.

So if your happy with Egnos no licenses are need just a wiring loom.
Support wise Vantage do Trimble Ag support in the UK so if you haven't purchased from them expect support costs as that's only reasonable.

At the end of the day it's a good saving, however these systems aren't simple to install. By all means it can be done DIY but you need to research it. You can get the wiring loom from Vantage or any CNH dealer.

I guess it comes down to looking into it and seeing how much your comfortable doing it yourself. The saving might not seem that great with a couple of headaches along the way.

The platform kit is the harness needed to connect to the tractor, an Agco topdock one for your tractor.
You'll need a CAN steering licence and accuracy licences if you want higher than Egnos or Rangepoint.
Vra, prescriptions, task controller, nextswath all need licences.
Subscriptions do indeed depend how accurate you want to go.
Trimble support is handled by their dealers, Vantage England and Wales, Soil Essentials, CNH dealers etc.
They may or may not support something not supplied by them.

Checked my March 2018 Invoice for Same Kit as in that Ebay Advert & it was £3179 before discount... how much have they went up since ??? & that got you 12months
sub to RTX inc aswell.

The extras you will need on that massey are

Platform Kit
AGCO/Challenger/Massey Ferguson
CAN Interface £551.00 RRP (2018)

License, NAV-900, Guidance: CAN
AutoPilot, No Expiry £1,587.00 RRP (2018)

i had a little discount on complete package but where only talking a few hundred here.

all prices plus VAT of course.

Maybes the UK suppliers wernt doing us such a bad deal afterall ???

you would need current prices of above Kit to compare

Good luck

Local New Holland dealer is offering that spec of kit, Nav 900, XCN1050(GFX 750) and the easy pilot pro steering column motor fitted to any tractor you like for £6200 just now, which is up £400 on springtime, might be discount but not much.
Not sure how much less a autosteer ready tractor would save as you wouldn't need the steering wheel gubbins.
Unless you are just spreading fert, or running a cultivator, you'd really need for a minimum a sub for Rangepoint RTX which is £295/yr

Trimble GPS can come 'area locked' by sales area. Make sure it's unlocked for use in Europe before you buy.
