Our Kid as well as Mrs B have issues with Classic Shell although it still works fine on my PC, rather strange as we are all on W10

Further investigation reveals that Classic Shell is no longer supported and that 'Open Shell' is it's replacement - other options are available!

So, which 'shell' did you choose?

Not actually sure James! I will have a look next time I have 5 mins to continue the process of getting the PC to my satisfaction...! :)

Come on lads man up and do win 10 , it's sound , don't listen to @Goweresque

Huh? I'm on Win 10. I got suckered in by that dialogue box that if you closed it, it automatically downloaded it for you. Thanks Bill..........

Actually its not too bad, I've had no trouble with it. Now Windows ME on the other hand........biggest pile of bugs this side of the Celebrity Jungle.

Anyway, who's still running Windows 3.1????

Not at all, I have used a third party antivirus suite for years and it has stopped a couple of very nasty issues on my system. I just don't think I would rely wholely on MS inbuilt antivirus suite.
Obviously I've prostituted myself to microsoft , won't let me download 3rd party anti v . f**k it , life's too short

Somewhere, out there. lurking in a dust farm building, is a box in which lurks a PC with W3.1 on it....

And I think I still have sets of disks with CP/M and also DOS on them... But maybe (hopefully) I binned them in one of the 2-3 moves since the curse of the PC took hold around 78....

Think I probably have 3.11 and also MS Word on 3.5" floppies in the loft somewhere!
They were both running on the trusty 486 with a 450MB hard drive

Good old 486 DX4 100mhz! I was in school when that was a thing.

When I was at school we used Research Machines 380Zs.

If we were lucky we got to use the 480zs.

well am a bit of a Computer techy not much beats me but i can honestly say am no convert to W10 not 100% yet anyways.
have several machines on W7 & it they do everything i ask without too must fuss.
W8 was shocking & yes i did get the FREE upgrade to W10 via that route but something went pete tong on it a few months later & had to do a factory
reinstall, back to W8, that got dumped for W7 on this one also.
so currently have all on W7 here.
If i buy a Built PC with it on then i'll try it again but bugger paying more money for newer OS stuff that.
still prefer to build my own PC tho, altho there is nowt in it money wise these days.
