Just seen a very serious Jon snow trailing tonight's news sensationally title 'extinction britain'.

Apparently farming is to blame.

What a dick.

Old news: Jon Snow is a sensationalist half wit. The good news is he's offended every sector of the public playing the 'blame game' over the years that nobody pays attention to him, he's what became of 'the boy who cried wolf'.

Unfortunately he's still got a public platform as the anchor of a national nightly news program.

There are plenty of gullible/ill informed people who will watch this tripe and believe every word of it. Have no doubt, the colourful socks and jovial demeanour hide a nasty bigoted attitude to anything he doesn't like.

As Snow said, report is drawn up by a consortium of Environmental groups. That will be totally objective then. Along the lines of "Teachers say education Underfunded shock" and "Head of Civil Service says civil servants underpaid" And farming to blame as usual. Nothing to do with increased industrialisation, road building, house building, air travel etc etc.

News headline clip looked full of fake tears and fake news too. It all the farmers fault, do these people actually get out in the real world. If anythings causes bird numbers(turtle doves) to fall its the protection of hawks etc. Hedgehogs declined because badger numbers exploded and busier roads. The more these do-gooders get involved in the countryside the more harm they do.

Spot on.

Sadly, the chances of this message reaching Jon snow levels of audience are low, such is the level of journalism employed in the main stream media.

I was on a really tidy, modern arable and pig unit yesterday morning in Humberside

Good arable crops, tidy yard. Modern buildings and outlook. Drive about a half mile long.

Got to the yard to greet the farmer and two barn owls were hunting the ditch along the farm . Kestrel followed me out along the drive

Still be this farmer's fault and not the urban population and roads and housing of course

Several reports have linked the decline of ground nesting birds, small invertebrates and hedgehogs to the explosion in badger numbers since 1997 when the moratorium on controls for disease purposes was introduced. And even earlier to 1972 and the first Protection of Badgers Act.
The decline in hedgerow birds has more to do with burgeoning populations of corvids, magpies etc. than any farming practice. IMHO of course.

John Snow trying to emphasise the word poison all the time, was very irritating, but overall I thought the guests spoke well and largely stuck up for farmers.
The new agriculture bill and the long awaited ELMs , could be a game changer for many of us. If they will pay a decent figure, I’m happy to grow crops for wildlife instead of food. The rents got to be paid though, and a reasonable living made.

Now it is the youth of the nation talking about saving the environment. Twitter and the internet on mobile phones. They should look at what lithium recovery is doing to the Atacama region of S America (lithium is used in phone batteries) And what are computers and mobile phones made of mainly--plastic! If people are serious about nature and saving the planet, they should campaign to: ban private air travel, ban the use of private cars in built up areas and stop eating food grown or reared more than 100 miles from where they live. Farmers are not the biggest destroyers of nature-people driving 10 miles in their chelsea tractors to buy almond milk, extra virgin olive oil and avocado are!

I wonder if Jon Snow has investigated the role millennials play in inadvertently funding the Mexican drug cartels that supply avocados to the UK market. It's easier to bring in a 1000t of avocados into the UK than a kilo of cocaine, and the snowflakes love their 'ethically produced' organic blood avocados ! ?

Is that right, the drug cartels have diversified into avocados?! That is hilarious if it is ?

His sons no better. Basically admitted to lying, but he's still on the BBC.
