Hi,

I have three Herdwick cross lambs on the bottle all about 5 weeks old.

They are taking creep/hay/grass/water. I have a large amount of milk powder and would like to use it up so continue to feed them.

How much creep per day should they get and how much when they get older and off the bottle. Would prefer to hard feed twice a day opposed to ad lib.

Not commercial so not looking for massive growth rates or to get them away early. Just healthy not to much or to little.

If on grass then just a handful twice a day to keep them biddable, you're spoiling the point of them being Herdwick if you force them.

Just follow the guidance given on the bag. And if they are eating as much creep as recommended prior to weaning, keep the remaining powder until next year. Press all the air out and tie the top of the bag so that it remains airtight.

Sooner you get them off the milk and onto the creep the better.
