In the 60’s and early 70’s, where I grew up in the Fens, everybody used Cage wheels for top work. They were invaluable in reducing ruts and compaction for veg growing and drilling wheat late after a veg crop or sugar beet. They also virtually turned a 2WD drive tractor into a 4WD. An extra set of tyres wold have been expensive and for myself, it wasn’t until I had to replace nearly warn out rear tyres that I bought a set of Dual rims to put those tyres on.

If Cage wheels blocked up with mud, it was too wet to be doing anything on the land. Dual’s often got used when we shouldn’t have been going there at all.

However, I soon learned that a very cheap way of buying good replacement tyres was to buy them on Duals at a farm auction! Many a time I’ve bought hardly warn new tyres this way, but often many years old!

I reminded myself just how useful Duals are this last October, when trying to drill my wheat.
The last Half of which would not have been possible without them. Cage wheels would have been just as good, but not available in this size any more. These Duals cost me £900 inc tyres off eBay

They got left on all winter and were again very useful this Spring.

Our spraying tractor has 12.4 R 36 wheels ,when I saw a set of stocks duels the same size at a farm sale this autumn I got them bought, I dont know anything about them, brought them home and they don't fit.
Talked to stocks and they are step down duels for a bigger wheel, 100mm small all round. Thought about bolting wood blocks around them , probably easier buying some that do fit.
Still as above, quite a cheap way of buying nearly new tyres and I got 8 clamps as well.

Are they to fit a 32 inch combine wheel?
