I believe it provides the same levels of calcium as a big bottle so handy for going in the vein

Atlast I’ve found where I can get them from!!! They are the best thing ever invented. My vets couldn’t get them so I had to get them via a chap I worked for.

We use a Trodax gun modified slightly. Has worked well for about 3 years.
Obviously not into vein though, use flutter valve for that if necessary and if I can find the vein!

We don’t have many milk fever cases however we have older cows up to 14 year old . They will get calcium as standard after calving it’s a cheap precaution

Could always use a calcium bolus of older cows?
We do it for cows diagnosed with twins when moving from far off to close to group

£58 though, the last time I bought one of these from the local vet I thought that £33 was daylight robbery. In the past these injectors have lasted about a year, the main problem with them is that the rubber perishes and holes appear where the hose is sealed onto the pump. The last time it started leaking I bought a roll of silicone repair tape off ebay and wrapped it around the hose where the metal insert is and it hasn't leaked since.
