Just as a side idea to a crate. There is a firm in Ireland that so headstock pieces that clamp onto a gate. I recently got one, haven't got round to using it on calves yet but I've been using it to dag lambs. If you're interested, ill find the relevant info......!?!??!?!?!

I'm looking forward to it now. Ha ha. Used it to dag lambs tonight. 2 small gripes thus far....clamp tightening handle thingys get in the way when you are trying to put clamps through gate, and lambs wiggled about a fair bit, we have the extension piece for when we do calves so will see how it works. Still 90% easier than any other way I've done it thus far

Just be careful it's only as strong as the gate it's fitted to need a good thick bared gate 👍
