Calf with dislocated kneecap

Has anyone on here ever successfully seen a dislocated kneecap repaired/recovered on a calf? Vet is currently looking into any viable options but we are pessimistic. Poor lad is a cracker of a calf otherwise

Not in a calf, but I had a Jersey sixth calver dislocate similarly. She would be almost unable to weight bear on it, but would lie down and then get up a few minutes later, completely sound. It would happen maybe once or twice a month. Was able to keep her separate when she was bulling and got her back in calf as soon as possible. When she had to go, I got a cert for her and had her put down here, as she probably wouldn't have travelled very well.
